A Not-So-Sexy Life Update

Honestly, I’ve been scared to give you a life update, because the reality of my life right now is that … I’m very sad, and hurt, and exhausted.

If you’re new here (hi), I just lost my mom ~3 weeks ago after losing my dad a little over a year ago.

So, yeah. I’m surviving the best I can at the moment, you could say.

It’s not super sexy to talk about. It’s not the kind of content that’s going to make a good IG reel. And it’s not a catchy email with a cute legal lesson.

But as an online business owner who has chosen to share certain aspects of my life with you – if I don’t allow myself to open up a little bit about my grief, then I definitely can’t show up and talk about contracts, lol.

Even though my work is important, plowing through my feelings and getting “back to business” would feel phony to me when I have much bigger things going on.

Am I excited for the day when I’m able to create fresh business content again? Absolutely.

But for now, this is my way of showing up and giving you a peek at what it’s like to be both a human who’s grieving and running a business online.

My hope is that this will encourage you to be gentle with yourself as a business owner when you have a lot of stuff going on in your life.

Because when you’re “going through it” in life, there’s no way for it NOT to impact your business, how you show up, and your creativity.

So, I guess this episode is my way of sharing how I’m going through it, how I’m doing as of lately, and that it’s safe to take a quieter season in your business when you need it.
