Andrea pulled my pants down
Andrea Pulled My Pants Down
You Can’t Control Getting Sued (But You Can Control This)
I knew what had happened as soon as I felt the breeze on my tuchus…
The year: 2004.
I was in Washington, D.C. playing volleyball for the National Maccabi Games.
As we entered the packed arena for Opening Ceremonies, my “always has good ideas” teammate, Andrea, decided to pants me. In front of thousands of people. ????
As I scrambled to cover myself up, my Scorpio-self immediately started plotting revenge…????

As much fun as it was getting embarrassed like that 20 (!!) years ago — I’m not sharing this story with you just to re-embarrass myself all over again.
I’m sharing it because getting your pants pulled down is like getting sued.
I taught a training for Nancy Levin’s Levin Life Coach Academy last week. Her students asked me:
“How do I make sure I can’t get sued?”
Here’s the deal –
Just like getting pants’d in front of thousands of people, you can’t control whether or not you/your business gets sued, but you can control whether you get caught being (legally) naked.
As a business owner, you can’t spend all your time hiding, praying no one will pull your pants down sue you.
You’ve got to confidently swoosh around, knowing that even if the worst case scenario comes true — you’ve got more layers of protection on than Joey Tribbiani.

With each legal layer, your shoulders fall away from your ears, your chest tightness melts away like butter, and you sleep through the night without waking up thinking, “IS SOMEONE GOING TO TAKE THIS ALL AWAY?!”
So where can you learn how to add on these legal layers of protection so you can feel more confident strutting into the online arena, knowing pranksters and PITA clients can’t touch you?

Subscriber Question of the Week
“I have an LLC and I’m writing a book. Do I need to create a separate business?”
Not necessarily! I mean, you could – it’s up to you. But the law doesn’t require it. I wrote my book, When I Start My Business, I’ll Be Happy: A Practical, No-BS Guide to Successful Entrepreneurship (get on the waitlist!) under my personal name, but I asked my publisher to issue my advances) to my LLC, not me personally.

✔️ Your Task This Week
Think of your most embarrassing moment. Is there a lesson in it that you can share with your audience? Start by (quickly) telling the story, use a transitional phrase like: “What does this have to do with [what you teach people]”, and then give them the takeaway. You could write an email, create a reel, or do a voiceover! Super bonus points if you tag me in it so l can hear about it lol.
Let me know what you create!
So What Do you think?
