freebies are the problem?
Maybe What Your Business Needs is More Action
“I just wish I had more PDFs in my inbox.”
^ Said you, never.
When I started my business in 2016, I was freebie-loaded.
If freebies were currency, I could’ve bought a lot of those overpriced $450 seashell mini spoons I was eyeing the other day on an antique website.
But all those freebies? They didn’t help me to start or grow my business.
Why?
Because I’d collect them like rare baseball cards, only to let them gather dust in my digital closet.
I never put them into action.
I didn’t need some of the info I was gathering. It was beyond me, or too “just in case” to actually be useful.
Other info was helpful, but I breezed past it on my way to gather yet another freebie.
I didn’t need more info.
I needed more implementation.
When I heard Pat Flynn wrote a book called Lean Learning, I knew I had to have him on my podcast.
I sat down with Pat to talk about how information abundance is destroying our businesses before they ever take off and what to do instead.
If you’re gathering more courses, freebies, and webinars than the number of mini spoons I own* —

OK, the pilot’s telling us to put away our laptops… I’m off to Boise, ID to give a keynote at Kit’s Craft + Commerce conference! Pat’s doing one too! Wish me luck.
PS. I was on Pat’s podcast, Smart Passive Income, recently to talk about how I built a multi 7-figure business in a boring industry. LISTEN HERE→
