I Want You to Do This, But

Today’s likely the last “productive Monday” we’ll have until most of us close up shop for the year. And even though this shop will remain open, I wanted to address a few things.

Especially if you:

✅ are gunning to buy SOMETHING “professional development-y” this December, so you can beef up the backend of your business during your upcoming downtime,

✅ need one last business write-off to decrease what you owe for 2023 taxes,

AND on top of that, 👆

you’re considering spending 💸 on something to help you clean up the legal side of your biz (whether it’s my stuff or someone else’s).

Here’s the thing…

Some people love the idea of using my templated contracts, NDAs, disclaimers, privacy policies etc. to accomplish all that,

others are contemplating going all in with the Ultimate Bundle™,

but naturally, most have an excuse about why they haven’t done it yet… that’s probably somewhat legit. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So I want to address two today. And remind you, if you want to use next week to bring your online business up to legal snuff while baking gingersnaps — I’m here for you. 🙋🏻‍♀️

#1) for the online business owner who hasn’t started yet 👇

You might be thinking “I don’t even have a client yet. Should I wait until my business is bigger to implement the legal stuff?”

I hope you don’t!

There’s no get-out-of-jail-free card for not having a lot of clients and doing something wrong, legally. Wrong is wrong. The judge won’t care that you’re new. 😬

Food for thought: many Bundle™ members say that they DID wait, and all that did was lead to a cycle of waiting and waiting to build their biz because they were too afraid to take on clients since they weren’t legally protected. It’s sort of a chicken-egg issue…

I mean besides… wouldn’t you rather position yourself as an A-lister from the start? You can’t do that with privacy policies you copied and pasted (which is a major legal no-no!).

#2) for the existing online business owner who’s still putting their legal stuff off.👇

You might be thinking “I’m too busy. I’ll focus on the legal stuff when I have more time!”

But is it realistic to assume your “time shortage” issue will actually change?

There’s likely too much on your plate… like, all the time. Chances are, once [insert the project you’re working on right now] ends, you’ll just be launched into another one that’ll keep you so busy, there will be days where you reach 8PM and realize you never showered.🤷🏻‍♀️

Or you’re getting that infamous mirage most of us online business owners who are chronically over-booked get. You know, the one that convinces you:

“I’ll have more free time once [so and so’s] contract ends; I see it on the horizon!”

But as you, me and your partner all know, that horizon never comes.

Or if it does, it’s dappled with a whole new set of due dates. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you’re not sure, just look at your last 60 days. Did you once experience the lull you felt you “needed” to hunker down and do that backend task you’ve been putting off?

For the record, I’m calling myself out just as much as I am you. 😂

Consider me the tall glass of reality — who legitimately wants to help you move something that’s reallllly important into the DONE pile. ☑️

And I get it.

I’m the self-proclaimed “person with the unsexiest offer in our industry.” 🤣

❌ Getting your legal ducks in a row will always feel like a chore.

❌ You’ll never feel “called” to do it.

I suck! I know!

whether you do this today or 6 months from now, it’s gonna be up to YOU, to stop the “I’m waiting for a more ideal moment” inertia.

Then take the 20 minutes it takes per day to chip away your legal loose ends.

I know you can do this.

And I hope I can be a part of your journey to get it done.
