My Book Update!

My Book Update

I know I really put books/authors on a pedestal but to me…

There’s nothing cooler than writing your own book.

Maybe it’s the bookworm in me that looked to faraway fantasy scenarios like Hogwarts to escape my home life…

But I’m so impressed anytime someone creates a story (or writes their own), puts pen to paper, and has it printed, bound, and sitting on store shelves.

It’s always been a dream of mine to write a book.

I knew since the day I started my business that writing a book was the ultimate goal for me. Someone told me that in order to write non-fiction, you’d have to have a big audience.*

So I put my head down and got to work.

I focused on building my email list, beefing up my website traffic, and yes – of course – getting more followers on social media.

But once I hit the numbers I’d set out to accomplish before I promised myself I’d start trying to write a book, I froze. I kept making excuses and saying, “just a little longer… just a few more email subscribers… a few more followers.”

2 years ago, it got to the point where I couldn’t deny it anymore: my business (and yes, my audience) had well surpassed any point I thought I needed to get to in order to write a book.

So while I’ve been working away behind the scenes building my multi 7-figure business these past few years, I’ve also quietly been chipping away at my book proposal.

My Book Update!

And now I’ve got some pretty big news.

Listen to/read Episode 115 “My Book Update!”  (with some pretty major news inside!!) to hear about the whole wild ride. I think you’ll get some inspo to take action on something you’ve been putting off, too.

When you listen, let me know what you thought 😉

Would you ever be interested in writing a book?! Do you have a different big dream goal? I’d love to hear it!

And make sure you’re honest with yourself about whether you’re truly not ready to take the next step in your big-dream journey… or whether you’re playing it safe.

As someone who’s going after her own right now, I can tell you that the rejection and obstacles are still there. But I’m hoping ultimately that we’ll all still get to our goal, regardless of the path we take to get there.

*You don’t have to have a big audience in order to write a book. This was one of the many myths I bought into, mostly because it kept me safe from trying to pursue my dream earlier (out of fear of rejection).
