Just when you thought there was no coming back…

Just when you thought there was no coming back…

I’m not sure if plants love me as much as I love them.

I try my best to keep them alive, but it doesn’t always work out.

A few months ago, I discovered I’d accidentally left a plant on our patio all winter. She looked deader than dead, but I wasn’t willing to give up on her yet.

I had a plan:

I moved her into the sun. I watered her and cleared away the dead leaves. I begged her to forgive my neglectful ways, and reminded her how beautiful the summers are here on Long Island.

For weeks, nothing happened. I thought my begging didn’t work. But then all of the sudden I saw this…

Plant Sprouting in Dirt
She’s back. (I hope)

Growth! She was coming back to life.

Maybe she knew how beat up and broken I feel. How adrift I am after so much personal hardship the past few years.

She knew I needed to be reminded of the truth…

You can come back from anything.

You might feel like the odds are stacked against you. Or that you’ve been through too much. You may wonder whether you should quit your business, because it’s been too hard and it shouldn’t have to be this hard.

But growth comes from pain, grief, adversity, overwhelm, frustration, starting over again…

If you tend to yourself, take care of your needs, and wait patiently, you may see a bud of growth. Even if you thought there was no coming back.

No giving up. We’re in this together. ❤️

PS. Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of losing my Mom. It’s been a tough year. Honestly, it was a really tough weekend. But beneath the dead leaves and past the raggedy branches, I see some buds peaking through. That’s all we can ask for.

Porch plants
Before you go thinking I’m a terrible plant mom, my other babies are thriving 🙂

💬 Subscriber Question of the Week

Q:I have a great name for my program. How do I protect it?

I recently gave a thorough breakdown (read this post) on how to do a proper name search before naming your business, program, course, etc. But now let’s talk about how to protect it.

To protect the name of your program, you would trademark it with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). If and when you do that, however, is up for debate. It depends on:

  • whether your name is actually trademark-able
  • how much time and money you want to spend (my recent trademarks took nearly 2 years to get approved!)
  • if it infringes on anyone else’s name already
  • when it gets approved, whether you’re willing to enforce it

In my signature program, the Ultimate Bundle®️, I teach you how to decide when trademarking is right for you. You even get a video training on how to file a trademark yourself, if you want to!

If you’ve wanted to get the Ultimate Bundle®️ but haven’t yet… keep your eyes peeled! 👀 We’ve got something coming for you in 3 weeks.
