“You see all these people in the shop?” Jim asked me, “Every single one of them has at least 1 thing they can do better than anyone else in the world. How many of them do you think actually know what it is?” he pointed around.
And I just thought I was popping into my favorite local coffee for a quick cappuccino after my workout — little did I know that Jim was dropping deep questions today.
I go to this coffee shop several times a week, and Jim’s always there.
He’s in his upper 80s, was an international lawyer, has a cozy sweater collection that might come close to rivaling my own, and is one of the most interesting guys I’ve ever met.
He always asks the most thought provoking questions– and this week’s was no different.
So it made me wonder.
What’s 1 thing you can do better than anyone else in the world?
For me, I’d say it’s remembering who drives what car, and…
Breaking down complicated legal topics into digestible bites.
OK ok, I’d argue there are plenty of people who are great at this (looking at you, Judge Judy!) — and who knows or cares how good I am at it compared to them — but I will own the fact that I am good at that.
It’s actually something people tell me about my legal templates all the time.
“You actually made legal fun! I can finally breathe a sigh of relief.”
“You made this so easy to understand. I was so lost before…”
^ are things I hear all the time.
So if legal contracts have got you stumped, or you’ve been trying to write your own policies for hours only to be left with more blank spaces than Taylor Swift…
